Family water wells in the Thar

Rajasthan is in a desert, where life can be extremely difficult. A handful of cities like Jaipur act like magnets to those escaping poverty in desperate measures, often arriving without means and settling in cardboard boxes under bridges. Our community projects in the area also seek to make life easier for families in the Thar desert that would otherwise feel forced to migrate, often to Jaipur.

Access to a dependable water supply is of utmost importance. This project gives clean water capture wells for families at risk in the Thar desert. Depending on the funding, one or more families can gain access to convenient reserves that fill and filter water during the monsoon to be stored approximately 6 months to a year, depending on its size.

The Fabric is partnering with Gravis, a local and trusted non-profit, to provide families with dependable access to water through the purchase of our philanthropy clothing. Together, we'll bring you the story of the selected families as their wells are constructed.
